Ms. Moffatt is super excited to be joining Equitas Academy #5 as a Kindergarten Teacher! She cannot wait to begin forming relationships with the scholars and families of the Pico-Union community. Together with families, she truly hopes to instill a lifetime love of learning in her scholars that they can carry with them forever. Ms. Moffatt grew up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania until relocating to Erie, Pennsylvania to attend Mercyhurst University. During her undergraduate studies, she earned bachelor’s degrees in Early Childhood Education and Special Education, and also minored in Psychology and Teaching English Language Learners. She moved to Los Angeles in 2019 to attend Loyola Marymount University for graduate school where she is currently working toward master’s degrees in Urban Education and Literacy Instruction, as well as earning her Reading Specialist Credential. Outside of the classroom, she really enjoys hiking, going to the beach, and traveling to new places. Ms. Moffatt can’t wait to meet each of the scholars and their families and is ready to have an amazing school year together!

¡La Sra. Moffatt está muy emocionada de unirse a Equitas Academy # 5 como maestra de jardín de infantes! Ella no puede esperar para comenzar a formar relaciones con los académicos y las familias de la comunidad de Pico-Union. Junto con las familias, ella realmente espera inculcar en sus alumnos un amor por el aprendizaje que puedan llevar consigo para siempre. La Sra. Moffatt creció en Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania hasta que se mudó a Erie, Pennsylvania para asistir a la Universidad Mercyhurst. Durante sus estudios de pregrado, obtuvo una licenciatura en Educación Infantil y Educación Especial, y también se especializó en Psicología y Enseñanza de Estudiantes del Idioma Inglés. Se mudó a Los Ángeles en 2019 para asistir a la Universidad Loyola Marymount para realizar un posgrado, donde actualmente está trabajando para obtener una maestría en Educación Urbana e Instrucción de Alfabetización, además de obtener su Credencial de Especialista en Lectura. Fuera del aula, le gusta mucho caminar, ir a la playa y viajar a lugares nuevos. ¡La Sra. Moffatt está ansiosa por conocer a cada uno de los estudiantes y sus familias y está lista para tener un año escolar increíble juntos!
